Women & Youth programme activities

Women & Youth

Enterprise development, participation and livelihood opportunities.

Ongoing

Overview

Women and young people are central to Asetenapa's diversification. The cooperative's women's council leads the cassava and gari enterprise — from the business plan developed in September 2024 to the factory and training centre commissioned on 20 August 2025 — alongside youth livelihood initiatives beyond cocoa.

Objectives

  • Create income beyond the cocoa season
  • Increase women's participation and leadership
  • Open practical opportunities for young people

What we are doing

  • Women's-council-led gari processing enterprise
  • Train-the-trainer cassava production training for lead farmers, reinforced by an extension officer
  • Business and enterprise training
  • Youth livelihood initiatives
